The other day a friend told me it would be his "summer barbecue". He said that with all the mess of the crisis, his wife unemployed and so on, they did not have enough money to go on holiday as in other years. And so, he told me that "politicians and bankers could make us take off the mountain this summer, also the beach, but our beloved barbecue will always stay. And that's true: that old fireplace in the garden has considerably evolved, since those days when the man of the house had an apron on and, unfortunately, got a few sausages burned to a cinder for their suffering companions at table. Fortunately, nowadays these kitchens are traditional items, especially in North America, thanks to modern charcoal based models, or the fastest ones which use gas and electricity. It is cleaner than cooking in the kitchen, it requires fewer pots and you can feel comfortable and relaxed while handling the fire on the porch or the garden, taking a sip of beer from time to time, or flipping the chops while your partner seasons a rich salad.

Garden barbacuePreparing a barbecue is generally straightforward and the number of ingredients you can cook on the grill is large. Nevertheless, it is advisable to prepare simple recipes, since even some humble sausage can taste completely different with a smoked and crispy skin. Any food tastes better outdoors and the delicious aroma given off by grilled stuffs will only give you an appetite.

Moreover, in case you prefer it, you will not have to merely do it in your garden or backyard since, nowadays, there are many portable models that can be easily put in the trunk of your car, and this way you can enjoy a picnic into the wilderness. And never forget that a mouth-watering barbecued meal is not only grilled stuffs, you should use refreshing salads, delicious sauces and desserts to go with and complete your menu.

Cheer up dear friend, just light the charcoal and ... have fun while cooking!
